Erste-Sparinvest KAG m.b.H (hereinafter Erste-Sparinvest), the company for investment fund management, was founded on August 1, 1998, created through the merger of ERSTE kapitalanlagesellschaft m.b.H (founded November 7, 1985) and SPARINVESTA kapitalanlage-gesellschaft m.b.H (founded March 29, 1965). According to the Austrian investment fund law from 1993, the Company has been registered with the commercial court in Vienna under the number FN 81876, as a limited liability company, with the founding capital of 2,3 million Euros. The biggest share in held by ERSTE BANK Vienna, in the amount of 81.42%.

The main activity of the company is founding and management of funds.

Erste-Sparinvest manages assets of individual and institutional investors in more than 350 funds, totaling 20, 9 billion Euros on September 30, 2004. Erste-Sparinvest has the largest market share of Austrian small investor funds (so called “retail funds”), and it is the second largest company according to market share in the total Austrian fund market. They are the winners of the Standard&Poor’s award for 2002. Their main products are bond funds (72%), balanced funds (16%), equity funds (11%) and other types of funds (1%).
